They enthusiastically spoke about their points of view on this topic, depending on their experience and the situation in their countries. It was great to hear that in the past decade, sport has increasingly been used as a tool to empower. I can honestly say that it inspired me for the project we are working on within FLOT (Female Leaders of Tomorrow).&#8221;<\/em> \u2013 Ida Grom [FLOT Mentee]\n<p>On Thursday 12 November 2020, TAFISA\u2019s webinar series in collaboration with the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) was launched with a first webinar in partnership with the African Women In Sports Association (AWISA). \u00a0With nearly 200 registrations coming from 74 countries around the world, the webinar<strong> \u201cGender Equity in Sport for All: Participation, Empowerment, Leadership\u201d<\/strong> addressed the topics of women participation, empowerment, and leadership.<\/p>\n<p>The webinar featured presentations and interventions from a variety of AWISA and AUSC representatives as well as AUSC Region 5 CEO, Stanley Mutoya, and TAFISA Business Development and Fundraising Manager, Keri McDonald. \u00a0Contributions from these two project partners provided an invaluable opportunity to present the FLOT Project to a global audience.<\/p>\n<p>All the participants were asked how gender equity could be achieve in Sport for All. The word cloud below summarises the hot topic of the webinar: we need <strong>empowerment<\/strong> and <strong>education<\/strong>.
