VISION STATEMENT
Our vision is to increase the percentage of physically active women by helping them recognise the value of the physical activity and encourage them to develop new habits that will lead them towards healthy lifestyle.
NEEDS ANALYSIS
Several studies have shown the positive effects of physical activity on physical and mental health during the person’s lifetime. However, the research shows that worldwide, around 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men do not do enough physical activity to stay healthy. The aim of this project is to assess the rate of physical activity among women of age between 30 and 40-year-old in local/rural area in Slovenia and Malawi. Our predictions are that more than 50 % of the interviewed women in the obtained sample are not physically active.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Goals:
- The goal of the project is to extend the women’s understanding of sport and physical activity by raising awareness about its importance for physical and mental health. In order to achieve that we will suggest different possibilities on how to become physically active to those, who will express the interest of becoming physically active during our research process.
- The main goal is to increase the percentage of physically active women by 10 %.
Objectives:
- The first objective is to find out on what the relationship between women and physically activity is based on, and to identify what personal, social and environmental factors shape this relationship and how it is influenced.
- The next objective is to prepare guidelines on how the women between 30 and 40 can become physically active despite berries such as financial inability, physical limitations, low awareness of the importance of physical activity, lack of knowledge, lack of time, lack of motivation or lack of sports facilities in the area. The suggested guidelines will serve as a call to action. They will invite non active women to join the free activities that do not require any previous knowledge and show them how to live a healthy lifestyle while having fun. The provided guidelines will motive women to find a way to become physically active and they will encourage them to overcome the limitations, barriers or fears they are facing.
METHODOLOGY
The primary research will be done by conducting a qualitative survey. It should be noted that we will use improbability sample where all respondents will be selected on a random basis. The risk of such generalization is unknown; therefore, the results of the qualitative survey will be purely informative in nature. However, the experience has shown generalization is useful and informative in most cases for such general variables.
