Mobility 1 - Trio week - 7 days
The first mobility will take place in the home country of the mentor and will allow the trios to meet in person for the first time. The mentees will take part in an individual mentoring programme which will focus on job shadowing, personal and professional development and exchanges of knowledge and experience with their mentor. The objective of this face to face meeting is for the mentoring trios to get to know each other in a personal and professional sense. They should not only learn about other’s background and culture, exchange knowledge and experiences, but this is also an opportunity for the mentor to create opportunities for personal and professional growth for the mentees. This physical meeting also provides a pivotal moment for the mentoring trio to discuss their project/s in-person.
Mobility 2 - TAFISA World Congress - 8 days
The second mobility will focus on knowledge and experience sharing. It involves all mentors and mentees (10 trios) meeting altogether during the 27th TAFISA World Congress in October 2021 in Portorož, Slovenia. The Congress takes place every two years and gathers over 500 leaders and representatives from 100 countries from the Global Sport for All Movement to discuss key issues in the field of Sport for All. Mentees and mentors will showcase the results of the project in general, and of their individual projects, to Congress participants through oral and poster presentations. This will also constitute an outstanding opportunity for mentees and mentors to network and learn from experts from all over the world.
Mobility 3 - African Union Sports Council Region 5 Youth Games & TAFISA CLC - 14 days
The final mobility will be divided in two parts:
For the first 10 days, the mentees will volunteer and be integrated into the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games’ Organising Team. By undertaking this important role, the mentees will have an opportunity to gain significant first-hand experience in the organisation, delivery and management of a grassroots sport event.
The second part of the mobility will last for 4 days and focus on capacity building and training. While in Lesotho for the AUSC Region 5 Youth Games, all mentees will participate in a 4-day TAFISA Certified Leadership Course (CLC) in Sport for All, an existing programme recognised by the International Olympic Committee. The CLC modules will provide the participants with the necessary knowledge to act as ambassadors and empower others within the Sport for All Movement and will provide the mentees with an opportunity to learn from local and international guest speakers and lecturers.
