On 28th August, following a stringent recruitment drive which resulted in the selection of twenty carefully selected women from thirteen countries in Africa and Europe, the first virtual meeting took place which brought together the FLOT Mentees and FLOT Project Partners. This virtual meeting provided an opportunity for everyone to get to know one another and discuss the project goals and objectives, as well as set a roadmap to steer the project over the next few months and beyond.
The mentees will be guided by their mentors who have been recruited based on their vast knowledge, experience and successes across the Global Sport for All Movement. The eleven mentors, from seven countries in Africa and Europe, are responsible for providing tailored mentorship to one African and one European mentee who they have been matched with to create nine mentoring trios and one mentoring quad (see below). The first virtual meeting of the FLOT Mentors and FLOT Project Partners took place on 27th August which was a pivotal moment for everyone to connect for the first time and find out what their roles and responsibilities are throughout the project.
